Sorry for the downtime, but it looks like we are back up and running. For more info, and to bitch at Ben about the whole thing, see the following thread: http://www.60degreev6.com/showthread.php?t=38971

Do to the fact that we have been spammed ALOT in the last few days, the wiki is now locked to registered users only. All people can still view the articles, but in order to add and/or edit a page, you must be logged in. I wanted this from the beginning anyway, so that people can get credited with their additions to the wiki, but now it is more of a need in order to keep the worthless spammers from deleting real articles and replacing them with mass crap links. Sorry for the inconvienence, but I think it will make the site better in the long run.

I was talking to Ben tonight and mentioned to him that donations have basically died out in the past few months. There for awhile, we were getting a couple donations a month. And then nothing (except for 2 guys that have recurring donations setup). Well, I figured out that the Donations link was a never-ending loop, and it has been since we went to the wiki setup. DOH!! Well, for those of you who want to help support the site, you can once again donate. Yea!! And remember, when you donate, you will get recognized on the contributors list as well as a Donator tag on the forums.

And for those of you who want to show off your support, we also have items for purchase on a CafePress store. Items include T-shirts, stickers, hoodies, and even license plate frames. You can see it all at http://www.cafepress.com/60V6Store . If you want something other than what is shown, let me know. For a couple dollars more, I think I can do some more custom stuff (to the extends that CafePress can do). PM or email me for more information.

And as always, we are still looking for people to ADD CONTENT TO THE WIKI!!! The only way the site will continue to grow is with EVERYONE'S help. Ben and I can't do it all. Nevertheless, I would like to thank everyone for continuing to make this site the best site for the GM 60ºV6 engines.

Well, it looks like this new layout is working quite well. I guess that is most peoples' feelings as well, since there have been basically no comments about the new layout, other than people just trying to get used to having to look somewhere else for things. I know Ben and I are definately happier with the new layout. Unfortunately, not much has been added to the Wiki. Remember, in order to make things easier for fellow members, feel free to add to the Wiki things that you feel would be beneficial to the site. Things like maintenance procedures, product reviews, and definately swap guides. Anything from swapping on new rockers, to a 3400 top end swap, to a full out engine or PCM swaps.

On another note, I finally got the new and improved Compression Ratio Calculator completed. So check it out and tell me what you think! We are still working on getting all the values into the database and corrected, so bear with me on that part.

What we hope to accomplish...

We have been trying for years to compile as much information as possible for enthusiasts of GM's 60-degree V6 engine. The forum has been an excellent place for the normal discussion of just about everything. The problem is that the information in the forums is, to put it nicely, very unorganized. What we are hoping to accomplish with the wiki is to put all the information out there into a logical layout. We want you, the users, to be able to add your information to help the site grow. And in our opinion, the wiki is a better format than the forum to keep everything organized. So, please help us develop the site to make it useful for present and future users.

Thanks!

Brad and Ben

Recent changes to the site layout

Ben and I were talking one night and decided to try something to see how it will work out. Don't worry, nothing has been lost. All the information is still out there. For now, the sidebar will just link to the existing articles. And to access the forum, just click on the Forum link. But, as stated above, we are hoping to transition all existing articles to the wiki. And all new articles will be created in the wiki, not under the vBulletin site. So don't worry, nothing has changed.

If you want to proceed to the forum, just click on the link in the sidebar. And feel free to leave comments in the Site Suggestions/Comments section of the forum.
